Halloween and Beyond...

Halloween was fun, stressful but fun. my peacock feathers arrived on Friday Oct. 30... holy crap cut it a little close right? used all day Friday at work to make my tail, and went to stephs to glue in all my feathers. it turned out really cute and i promise to post a picture soon. (i still have like 50 feathers left over so if anyone wants any i'll give ya a good deal!) We went down to salt lake for halloween night and it was so fun, and really laid back which was just what i needed!

i finished my rat lab last week and boy was that an adventure. 3 weeks of getting up to campus by 7 and in the 'barn' by 7:30! yuck but it wasnt too bad my lab partner was fun and we had a pretty smart pretty large white rat. and i mean rat... so gross thankfully i only had to pick him up once, and never again will that happen! its sad really that it ended cause that means poor dexter (the rat) got axed... RIP little guy!

November has already had a stressful start and look its December in less than 3 weeks! ahh. i am freaking out. i am doing okay in my classes but i do this every semester, swear i will be different and i always start out great but end up not sleeping the last few weeks of the semester trying to catch up. if there is a medication out there that cures procrastination i need it.. but hopefully i will be able to get it all taken care of and sleep really good over christmas break! my new classes have worked out really great except my 7:30 class... that might just kill me... but if i can do it for 3 weeks every day (rat lab) i can do it twice a week right? heres hoping! pictures and more details to come!

My Love/Hate Relationship with October

I thought i loved october,

• the crisp fall air
• being able to sleep underneath the covers and not get too hot
• the leaves changing colors
• it getting darker sooner
• corn mazes
• haunted houses
• pumpkins
• halloween
• and the list literally goes on and on.

But i recently realized that these things i 'love' actually make me 'hate' october. for example

• the cool air? maybe its cool in the afternoons but the mornings are freaking cold!! As in i am skipping class and staying in my warm bed.
• my warm bed, i wanna stay in it until at least 11:00 am
• it getting darker sooner makes me sleepy and want to go to bed at 7:30...
  
• the leaves, stick to everything my shoes making me drag them into the house and making my shoes wet in the bitter cold mornings.
• halloween i still love you but i hate deciding what to be, and i hate when i find the perfect costume early and i order all my supplies in advance and some dont show up (like the 74 feathers i ordered!!!)
• haunted things, you always sound like a good idea but you never manage to scare me. it is a waste of my money and time...

so i guess that i don't love october, i think i do but in fact i do NOT!!

one thing i do love about october is that makes me remember a great man in my life, although i remember him every day and his example will always stick with me Oct. 29 will always be a sad day. its been one year tomorrow since my grandpa luthi past away, he was an amazing man and i will always remember the conversations we have had and the advice that he has given to me. i still feel very close to him and i cannot wait for the day that i can see him again. although i think he may be disappointed in me for my lack of effort at school lately. learning was something he taught me to never take for granted and every time i read a newspaper i think of him. he was always learning always keeping up on current events. he has impacted my life in such a positive way. i love you grandpa!

my newest obsession...

so ever since the weather started to chill i have been thinking of my halloween costume. what could i be??? i was having a hard time coming up with any ideas so i youtubed halloween makeup and got a ton of videos of pin up girl makeup and hair. and although i decided to not go that route i am obsessed with that era, the women were so beautiful and classy to me. i recently have decided that i am going to be a classy women and start feed off the attitudes and confidence that women had in themselves back in the day. here are some of my favorite girls i am taking inspiration from: Gene Tierney, Miss Monroe, Ingrid Bergman, Elizabeth Taylor, and of course Audrey Hepburn. I was born in the wrong decade!

THIS I BELIEVE

for my english 2010 class we are writing a paper on this i believe. and for the last two weeks i have been trying to think what i believe in. not only what i believe in religiously but also what i rules of conduct that i live by as well. i have been thinking making lists after list and reading the writings posted on thisibelieve.org.

you see i believe in a lot of things,

• in saying no
• laughter
• the power of the mind
• in customer service
• in karma
• in the golden rule
• in love--the forever kind
• in true joy in happiness
• in little kids
• in saying YES to life
• in having a positive attitude
• in making my own destiny

and many many more things, now the trick here is that i have to write a 3 page paper on one of my beliefs. do i really believe in anyone of these that strongly? i have started with topic after topic and gotten stuck, so really i am writing in reflection here... what do i believe, what makes me do what i do, what gets me from monday to sunday every week. well i might be thinking all night. but i think everyone should make a list WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE? also if you ever need some inspiration click here

FALLLLLL

So fall is getting close I can tell by the chill in the air when I am heading to school, and the fact that we are getting a HUGE Halloween store down by hobby lobby!! i cant wait this is my favorite time of the year.

School is going okay, i said "sorry i cant come to your house i have to study" for the first time in my life. and i think that its paying off??? we shall soon see!

life is good so far me and tia are really trying to get into scrapbooking cause we just got called as the bulletin board specialist... but it should be fun!

DREAMIN BIG, but just getting by

i am a vivid dreamer its a problem that i have. i often cant tell the difference between my dreams and reality, usually this occurs when i am really stressed about school or work and so i dream that i am at said places. (this causes problems with my emotional health just in case you were wondering...) i often wake up confused, distraught and sometimes very angry at certain people.

i had a dream yesterday night that was really bad my tia kissing my man... haha and i really woke up and kinda wanted to say HEY!! HE IS MINE. if i didnt know for a fact that she does not like my man i would have probably. (at 4 in the morning no less)

i dont know if its just me that has trouble distinguishing reality and the dream world or if other people have this problem too. but i literally have to sometimes use calming phrases to calm myself down. these dreams do also center around a certain time of the month when my emotions are heightened, but still this sucks.

school is starting soon and i am getting really excited i bought new notebooks and everything!!! i even have coordinating highlighters for classes that coordinate with the same colored notebooks and have color coordinated sticky notes too... call me a nerd if you must but this semester i am going to get straight A's!!

also baby roman was blessed this past sunday!! he's getting so big already and i just love to hold him! i cant believe how good hily looks too! guess i'll have to hit the gym more to keep up!check out Robert and Cheri's blog to see the pics so cute!

AUGUST 10, 2009- AUGUST 10, 2013

i have been sitting here for about an hour now devising a plan, a 4 year plan.... you see i predict that it will take this amount of years to get my life to a proper place. a place with a new car a new job and a newly graduated me.

year one is all prioritized. mom you'll be happy because in year one i plan on moving out. (although i like to tease you that i will remain at home for the next 5 to 10 years i wish as much as you do that i could 'fly the coup') however it is low on my list right above it is working somewhere that will give me more than 20 hours a paycheck so keep your fingers crossed.

i hate plans, i hate lists, i hate organizing. these are things i hate. so why am i making a plan? in list form? and organizing my life??????? good question i dont know exactly...
all i know is that i dont particularly like where i am at and where i see myself going at this rate, and because those who dont prepare are well unprepared.

any suggestions on how to make a 4 year plan and stick to it are welcome, those that sound like too much work or contain words like 'budget' 'student loans' and 'fixer upper' will be noted and then cast out of my brain. but thanks in advance for any of those suggestions.

364 days to go until year one is over... and tia is going to kill me because part of my plan is waking up in 4 hours to hit the gym...goodie! but it will be done because as 'they' say the early bird catches the worm, or lose an hour in the morning and you will be hunting for it all day, something else about a cat and breakfast??

I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY!!

a year ago today i was sitting in east hampton wishing waiting and hoping for the next week to go by fast, and slow all at the same time. a year ago next week i was on a plane flying alone next to the window with a dead ipod and a four hour ride of contemplating my next move. a year ago next month i was a confident sassy 19 year old that had just traveled across the country and survived, barely...i got into trouble, was slightly misguided, made new friends, and got in touch with old ones again. but i had discovered a new me.

but today i sit here back to the old me, back to my boring reality. i have been thinking of the first few months i was back from new york, back to what my outlook on life was. i didn't care what anyone thought of me i was certain of who i was... i was going to class, i wanted to work, i actually read and tried to study. but then tragedy struck and i was stuck again....

i thought going blonde again would help me recapture the magic i had once upon a time... but i realize now that i have to start putting back the peices on my own, i have to recapture the lessons that i learned.

i started this blog because i have something to say-- i started it because i love to hash out my thoughts in the written form, but somewhere along the way i started to become insecure about what my blog said about me to the world... to depressing, you are so dramatic. I WRITE TO RELEASE MY INNER DRAMA (her name is chuck,) my idea of this blog a year ago was an outsource to the chaos in my head. and now i have remembered that and here we are. i apologize to those of you who keep tabs on my on goings through this source. i will write about events from time to time but only when it is relevant to my rant.

stress

stress is unhealthy, it should be against the law. i have been so stressed and worried this whole week and it has been well unhealthy.

last night i was driving to bear lake alone after work and i had a HUGE knot in my stomach and i just kept thinking what the heck i am fine relax and i really had to keep reminding myself to chill out and take deep breaths and take it out on the road. my poor car haha.

it was a good long drive with traffic so i had a lot of time to myself to unwind. once i got to bear lake i was calm and over all my issues i have been over thinking this whole week and ready to have some fun with great people.

we went up to becca's parents condo for the night and it was a perfect getaway, we played tennis, laugh, some people got thrown over other people (i am still sore from landing so hard on the ground) we watch a movie, stayed up late and woke up early. it was the perfect start to the weekend!

helps me remember there is more to life than stress, work and unhappiness. why was i stressing myself over such minor things? i am receiving a small portion of the bigger picture and i am grateful for the small insight! sorry no pictures but i promise to take some soon!

Happenings and such

its been a while!! sorry i have been busy and lazy and depressed the past few weeks over silly things! But i have had some fun things go on such as

NEW BABY!!
Hily had her baby on Saturday evening it was sooo much fun to watch her have contractions on Friday night. (literally we watch not fun for her but exciting because we were getting a new baby boy!) after a very long labor Roman Robert Fonua was born. He is 7 lb 9 oz and 21 in long! He is so cute got to see him in person and hold him this evening and he is a doll! good job dave and hil!

PARK CITY

i was invited by some friends to go stay at their condo in park city this past weekend so i was actually not in town at the time of Romans birth but i think i drove tia crazy texting her every hour. Me and Steph headed down to the Jordanelle Lake on Saturday morning and met friends for Nick's birthday so fun we rode jet skis and tanned lovely then we went back to the condo for an awesome dinner and night of fun.

we jetted off to bed that night around 3 am and me and Steph had the giggles bad, but the next morning we went to brunch and browsed the Park Silly the little farmers market they have on Sundays. So cute saw tons of fun ideas and now want to make crafts all the time.we went back and lounged at the pool then headed to our friend Tory's for a nap. We napped a long time then he made us dinner so good chicken salad sandwiches, and went to bed. Had to get up early Monday morning and drive home for work though... and i was only 15 minutes late haha. i really needed this weekend it help me get out of the mini rut i had fallen into so thanks to all that made it wonderful!!

Kali went back east to nanny for a month this summer so before she left we took a lot of pictures...i will post a few but it was raining when we went so we made ourselves some ponchos, found iceblocks on old main and used them tripped tia and caught her on myself...not fun and other randoms... enjoy

WORK
Work has been going good i love the new family i am babysitting for kids are so cute and it has been so fun! phat lashes is going good as well getting more responsibilities and loving all the time with linsey and steph

OTHER HAPPENINGS we are still hitting up the gym we had a hard time going for a week or two but are now back into the swing of things! i feel great and can definitely tell a difference in myself when i go and when i don't!School is almost starting and i am getting very excited and very nervous!I have a calling in our student ward...activities committee its been interesting. So all in all fun adventures nothing too exciting to blog about!

heeeeyyy you guys...

I have been awfully productive today so i thought why stop?? I have had sooo much fun since i last posted prom was so fun (it was really just a prom themed party... ) pictures will be posted at the end from a variety of events that have occurred recently.

So since prom happened i have had my birthday really relaxed dinner at le nonne cake ice cream and wonderful friends. it was stephs birthday too so she let me share her birthday dinner and it really hit the spot. i got lots of fun stuff kitchen stuff from tia, steph, and baker got me sham WOW's which are amazing, the sister gave me a scale (its what i asked for fyi) jewelry a cute cute feather for my hair and some flip flops and a new bra for the gym, the little sister gave me a new body pillow that is soooo soft, and my daddy made me a yummy yummy cake! i had an amazing week really so thanks to you all!

then came richmond black and white days, the parade was fun and i think i had more fun then the kids. i almost got a dog but the dad said i wouldn't be living with him if i did, so i thought about moving out for about 5 hours then decided i could afford it.

Hily had her baby shower it was so fun and she got a ton of cute stuff, she is so cute pregnant and i can't wait til baby Roman is here!!

Had a lot of fires I still stink, went boating but the boat didn't start so really i was the only thing pulling the boat around got burned to a crisp i would post that picture but i am nudie so i will spare you all.

Went to the rodeo with Kali and watched the yummy cowboys ride them bulls! yee haw
Hung out with the fam in Star Valley and went to grandpa's grave, he had this thing were he thought my mom was in a cult because she had so many of those metal stars as decorations and he had been seeing them a lot around town so he would tease her about it so she found a star in the color red (he was color blind and could see some reds and pinks) and we put it at his grave.
have been hitting up the gym with the fonua boys and have been getting my bum kicked... but it'll be worth it i already feel so much better so that progress will be noted as necessary. but i love the sun and summer has been soo much fun so far i can't wait for the rest of it!

PROM!!

just got back from PROM AGAIN... yes that's right prom, pictures to come it was so much fun!

I have been slacking but it is all for good reason!

things i have done in the past 2 weeks
-declared my major into psychology!
-registered for..wait for it...16 credits next semester!
-made a down payment towards my tuition (and am taking donations hehe!)
-gone to the gym almost everyday!!
-brainstormed a way to make more cash this summer (any ideas surrogate mother, plasma donation, and a garage sale are in the top running...)
-been blissfully happy about my life
-took my first nap (during the week) of the year!
-AM CALM yeah really (i the complete crazy and dramatic person am CALM!)
-almost got kicked out but decided that cleaning once in a while and making my bed weren't so hard!


those are the important life altering things some other fun things i have been up to have been Doug and Jeff's birthday party... me lins and steph went down and had a blast here are some pictures

Spring Break!! LONG OVERDUE

This is from spring break...I know that was forever ago, like a month ago actually... Me and Tia went to Disney Land, Universal Studios, and Knotts Berry Farm. We had SOOO much fun and got to go with Tia's brother Drake and his wife Emily and Emily's parents and niece. I hope these pictures reflect all the fun we had over the WEEK we got to spend together...in a tiny hotel room... This was a vaca to remember and Cheri I am soooo sorry it took me forever to post these!

Spring is here!

This picture was in Hawaii, like the child I am I was in the water like the WHOLE time we were at the beach however none of my fellow travel companions wanted to join me. As this was my 2nd experience in the Ocean I was scared to go very far out alone (plus this beach had yucky hurty rocks at the bottom) so I stayed in the shallow water and played "starfish" after I bought them a tube Linsey and Steph joined me and we would play starfish-blow fish... (I know don't judge me!) and so we had to take a picture of me pretending to be a starfish right?? Well there you go I tag anyone who wants to participate!
