Week One at School

So I started school this week! Gotta love the college days. If anyone knew me last year I was really a slacker but hopefully this year will prove that I am serious about my education. My classes are pretty early, and I have gone to all but one... Old habits die hard haha. My classes are really exciting I have a abnormal psych class that is gonna be really fun, and some other interesting classes! I really just have to buy my books (scary part) so if anyone wants to contribute to my education let me know!

Back To Reality

So now that I have been home a whopping 2 days, its time to hunker down and locate some employment. My dad was upset that I wasn't working yesterday...but come on!! So I have two jobs lined up hopefully they both work out. One is a nanny job here in Logan for a few days a week, the other is working for the Child and Family Support Center in the nursery. I want to do both but I will have to see how my school schedule and both jobs scheduling works out! It has been amazing coming home, some things I enjoy...

1) the mountains
2) air conditioning
3) no humidity
4) my huge bed!! it really seems so big after my child sized bed
5) a large shower, I can actually bend over in it!
6) soft water my skin is loving that!
7) I can walk around nudie!!!
8) seeing my family everyday!

there are more but I won't bore anyone with the details, hopefully I will have all my work issues settled by the time school starts next Monday!! If anyone needs a babysitter however, give me a call because I miss my girls already!!

coming home!

Today is my last day in East Hampton, well full day anyways! I am in the middle of packing all my things...yes I had to take a break I have soooo much stuff... But I was looking back to the blog I wrote right when I got here. It seems like forever ago, because I have changed and grown so much here. This summer has flown by so fast and I have had the most amazing opportunities to actually live, breath, and see things. I have accomplished exactly what I had hoped I would coming here, back home I was stuck in a job I didn't like, I had no friends besides Linsey(your all I needed...) and I didn't have a plan. You may be thinking that "what do you ever have a plan??" and usually I do, however I also tend to fly by the seat of my pants.

Coming here has taught me how to appreciate life, I got to come into someone elses world and live their life with them. I always think that life will start when I have my own family, and it was so interesting to me to step into a different family dynamic, and see how other people live. It has shown me that my parents are some of the best in the world, because they have made me self sufficient, they have taught me how to think things through, and they have given me all the tools that I needed to make it in this world.

I also learned a lot about myself, although I am outgoing when I want to be, I decided that I hate meeting new people. And the reason for that is because I never have had to step out of my comfort zone and actually do it, trust me have had to do it a lot here. I have met some of the nicest people, people who feel like family even though I haven't known them all that long. Its going to be hard to leave for that reason because I have ties here that I know may be severed indefinitely.

I don't know when the Seitz's went from being the people I worked for to 'my family' but that happened as well. I use to refer to them as my bosses or the people I work for, etc. but now I always say 'my family' or Mike or Anne Marie, they have been so great to me and I know that I want to remain in close contact with them for years to come.

Although I am sad to leave, I am so excited to come home and put what I have learned into my own life. The lessons that I have been taught and was forced to learn are ones that everyone should experience and I am glad that I had a positive one!! Now that I have become a better version of myself, I have more confidence, more knowledge and more ambition for my life I can't wait to come home!! see you all soon!

New York City round 3

So Anne Marie took me to the city today along with Kelly to see the Lion King on Broadway, our journey started bright and early at 7:00 we had to be on the Jitney at 8:00 we got into New York City around 11:00 and Anne Marie took me to the New York Public Library, and we stopped into Toys R Us to check out the Farris Wheel inside. Then we went to John's pizzeria which had some of the BEST pizza and salads I have had here in East Hampton, then we went to the theater to get our tickets for the show.

When we got to the door there were about a dozen paparazzi and tons of other people, guess who came walking out?? Ben Stiller and Jack Black, just to add to the list of celebs I have seen here in NY. The show was pretty cool, the costumes were awesome but they changed a lot of the story and added new songs which kind of bugged me. Wicked was definitely better, but I was so happy for the opportunity to see it. Its been running for 10 years now!! You better hurry to if you want to see it, it will stop running in just 8 short years haha!! No really it was pretty great the lady who played Rafiki Tshidi Manye was by far the best performer I have seen! She was great.

We also took the Subway...yes me on the Subway twice!!! It was a neat experience and wasn't as scary or hard as I thought it would be. We also went to the Upper East Side gosh wish I could live there, we got manicures in a cute nail salon, where they give you a massage while your nails dry.... and it only cost $11.00, plus a hefty tip of course. Then after we walked through Central Park, and passing the Met, (wish we had time to go in!! next time) we ran literally to Penn Station to make our train home! We made our train with seriously 3 minutes to spare, way to close to cut it even for me but children don't understand the word hurry or late for that matter or if we don't run we will be stuck in Manhattan until 10:00 PM!! The train was nice (cheaper than the Jitney and more roomy, if you can stand the boat like motions...I almost couldn't). I bought a new purse, can't pass those freaking street stands I am a sucker! But thats all I got it was hard trust me! I love the city if you could get it cleaner, with less people, and less smelly I would so live there!

living 101

So apparently I have not had enough crazy moments this past week to meet my quota...thats right folks the good times just keep coming. Well about halfway through my sisters visit last week Mike told me that their was a leak coming from the upstairs bathroom, and even after he didn't use his shower he could still hear dripping and the mold spot was growing. So we didn't use my shower but the past few days the dripping has gotten worse, I figured it was because of the down pour in the playroom earlier in the week but after today I have been cleared from causing any damages. You see it turns out that it wasn't a leak because after we got home today we discovered bee's in the front room. Yellow jackets actually, and guess where they were coming from??? About a hands length away from the mold spot, they had eaten through the ceiling and the mold spot what about that right?? well that would be their nest sick right??? So Anne Marie is deathly afraid of bee's so I had to inspect the situation, I called my daddy (sorry to wake you up from your nappy poo, and on your anniversary!! your sooooo great!!) and told Anne Marie to go buy wasp spray. Well I was out voted by Mike who insisted we call an exterminator, haha I guess its the Hamptons. So we put a piece of tape over the hole, and although the ceiling is paper thin from the bee's hitting into it (hence the dripping sounds) I hope it holds!!! More to come hopefully with pictures, but I guess that I can't complain for learning new weird things...!!
this picture is not what came out of our house...ours is still hidden but trust me I will post some pictures cause its been up there all summer...eeewwww!!

Um I hate water..

So from my quick post you know that my sisters and friends came to visit me in East Hampton, NY for a week. Well having them here made me miss home so much, and I had forgotten how funny we all were...even Casidy is as witty as the rest of us! I had so much fun with them here and I can't wait to go home in 8 short days. While they were here we went shopping both in the outlet mall in Riverhead and in NYC, we also went to WICKED!!!

It was amazing and I wish I could sing as well as everyone there ah everyone needs to go to a Broadway show!! It makes me so excited for The Lion King on Wednesday with Anne Marie and Kelly. The one thing that Anne Marie said to me before she left was don't ruin my house, and thinking in my head everyone coming is cleaner then me...but once I was alone, all my house guests on their way home I had to deal with a few scary events.

By reading my earlier blogs you can probably tell my plumbing here stinks (haha see I am funny!) and so the toilet upstairs plugged the last day my family and friends were here, but I decided that it could wait and before I took Summer to the Jitney the toilet was overflowing a bit. Gross so I put a towel down and decided to deal with it after I had taken Summer to the bus stop. But when I got home I heard more water then just a little leak and to my dismay the ceiling in the playroom was leaking...yes from the fan the lights and a strip down the ceiling!!! Of course I ran to the phone and called my dad, he was golfing and didn't answer so I called my mom bawling and she got me under control and I turned the water off and got towels and cleaned the whole mess up. I won't go into further details to spare you all the fun facts of unplugging a toilet, however when I went to wash the towels in the cellar I found another problem. ..

The rain from the night before had flooded the cellar!!!! I hate water I should have taken pictures but I was a little stressed out...ok a lot stressed out! Thank goodness everything is under control now!! But I just wanted to thank everyone for coming to visit me! Without Steph, and Jennie and my sisters I would have had a boring week... I have the nicest friends and family, they look out for me in lots of ways and they think of everyone else besides themselves and I forgot how it is to be taken care of!! But I love you all, and can't wait to come home.

I have learned to be a better person here, I am now a good host, plumber, mom, cook, cleaner, and I am a heck of a lot more resourceful. I can even get somewhere with just an address and map! I freaking rock! haha ok maybe I am still a little full of myself...
