AHHHHH!!

I have had a very long week, filled with laughter, fun, anger, tears, one sleepless night, and three very early bedtimes (8:00 pm I feel soooooo old!!) But all in all I have learned that I may over react and be slightly dramatic at times...sorry Mom, and Linsey, and Cas... this week I have been working really long hours, usually from 7:30 to about 8:00 each night when my head hits the pillow and I am a goner!! It has been a fun week though,

Monday we had a beach party with some of Mike and Anne Maries friends from Ireland, their accents are the greatest...I love it, while we were there my very good girl Nicky said 'Jordan I need to go peeps, I want to use the beach potty' and so as I went to take her to the potty I realized that they closed at 5:00 and it was about 7:00 and she did not like the idea of going in the ocean and using the fish potty haha, so I thought back to my girls camp days and decided she could use the bucket we brought. She really liked that idea, she has been going around all week telling people she went peeps in the bucket, they all look at me REALLY weird!

Tuesday we went to a pool in Montauk downs which was way nice for a change no sand in the crack!! By the end of it I was exhausted and we came home and I figured the girls would be tired too but they are like energizer bunnies, they keep going and going and well you get my drift. So I brought out some finger paint I had bought a while back and they had a blast!! I don't know why but but Nicky only got blue finger paint on herself, not red or yellow only blue... we had to let them run nudie through the slip and slide to clean them up, it was funny!!

We also had a fiesta, I made the girls balloon hats and balloon animals, we made pinatas and had Mexican food for lunch, then we came home and finger painted some more... today we went to the beach and my kids played while I read my romance novel it was delightful and helped me calm down from this hectic week. My girls have been kid of whiny and it wears at you...especially when Nicky is just copying Kelly but being more annoying!! I hate having to raise my voice an octave or give them the look that means 'i am serious' I hate it even worse when Nicky burst into tears.
It has taught me to have patience, and Anne Marie told me today that she didn't know how I did it, how I was with them all day and didn't want to run out the door when she came home. However the truth is, the girls are usually only bad around their mom, I think its cause they don't think I can get mad or tell them what to do when she is around. It scared me that she would undo all the good thing I had done but really it has been great we both discipline the girls around each other haha its great!

more than memories...

The last few weeks I have been here have been so much fun, I am at the point in time where I am so comfortable with Anne Marie and Mike and I love meeting their family and friends. I have had so many opportunities while I have been here, the week before I come home Anne Marie is taking me and Kelly to the Lion King on Broadway...and we are taking the train to the city which is going to be a whole new experience for me. The week my sisters come...one week from today we are also going to the city and going to Wicked on Broadway. New York is amazing and I have never seen any other place like East Hampton, I have had the discussion with a few people about what is prettier Mountains or Beach and it really comes down to are you a person who loves to live at the beach and visit the mountains or live in the mountains and visit the beach...drum roll everyone!!! I am a mountain girl, while I would love to be at the beach everyday the mist and fog does nothing for my hair, and the sand gets EVERY WHERE!!!! Want to know a good way to keep your kids within sight at a busy beach??Haha I dug a whole they are sitting and couldn't get out on their own it was ingenious!! They also buried me and made me have a mermaid tail...it was pretty fun! Today we went to the LVIS fair and I got to go down one of those ghetto old slides from the fairs ya know the ones you ride on a burlap sack to go down?? yeah Nicky was on my lap, Kelly holding my hand and Nicky loved every minute of it... I couldn't breath... and Kelly said it made her heart hurt. But they had a carousel and pony rides, face painting and a petting zoo!! And of course we had to get cotton candy...
Nicky's face after was priceless...should have taken a picture however I didn't because we went on the slip and slide after this. I enjoy that thing more then the girls do haha. We are also going to the only public pool on the East end on Tuesday so that should be fun!! I can't wait for my visitors to come only 6 more days!!

reunions...

Last night was one of the first times that I have been really homesick, it was one of those nights where I was tired and cranky and I wanted to talk to Linsey or have Casidy make me laugh or just talk to my mom and dad... I also wanted to sleep in my own bed haha. But maybe its only because my parents are only 4 hours away and wont come see me :( just kidding mom I want to make you feel bad. But we have had a fun week here we went to the Atlantis Marine World the local aquarium on Sunday and we all did our hair super straight so we would match haha but here are some pictures my girls are cute!!
I am so excited for my Sisters to come next weekend!! I am ready for some family fun, hugs and laughs!! I am also excited for Casidy to meet my girls because Linsey already knows them!! See you soon girlie's...your driver will meet you at the airport with a little sign!!haha I am still working out who is going to come get you...

Ding ding we have a winner!!

So potty training has been going strong for 5 days, yep we have had a few accidents, mostly in the evening and usually poop. So this morning the girls didn't wake up on their own shocker...so I had to get them up and we hurried to get them ready for tennis which meant I got Nicky up last and she wore her diaper to the park. I know right?? But I didn't have the heart to wake her sooner, she woke up at like five and so she was sleepy!! I was hoping that I didn't screw up her potty training too much, and when we got home from tennis I put her in the tubby and I got in the shower. Well I have noticed that whenever Nicky has to go poop she goes into another room and hangs on to something...(usually her height for leverage I guess?? haha kinda gross) but when I was getting ready in my bathroom I saw her go into my room and I said Nicky come out, and she tried to go back in and the she burst out "Jordan Jordan I need to go potty!!!" she was trying to head downstairs to her little potty but I knew we were running out of time so I picked her up and plopped her down on my potty. Good move on my part because she had already started!! But she made it and she was so excited she kept saying "Kelly Kelly come look I went poop in the potty!!!" We are having a potty breakthrough...I couldn't be happier!!!!!!!

5 weeks to go...

With only a little over a month left here in East Hampton, I just have to say that this summer has gone by too quickly! I am super excited for my sisters and Steph Jennie and Summer to come visit me in August...19 more days!! then in two short weeks I will be home, my mini summer adventure over... I am so attached to my girls, especially Nicole we have been together every day since I got here and she is my baby. I was really worried about getting attached when I first came and I figured that with such a short amount of time that I wouldn't but these little girls have stolen my heart, I wish that you could meet them! Especially you mom you would love Nicky she has such a personality, and Kelly haha today she told me when she grows up she wants to be the tooth fairy. I have been so lucky to have had the opportunity to meet this family and live with them for these months, if I don't come back next summer I will definitely have to come visit. Cause its hard to think of coming downstairs around dinner time on a Sunday and not see this.... It will also be no fun not being able to dress my girls or do their hair, everyday I get to be creative and come up with fun hair do's and super cute outfits...sorry dad but you may have to let me get a dog so I can have something to play with!! It will be weird not having someone with me all day, mommy your going to have to go everywhere I go for a while, and I am going to have to buckle you in and sing to you and bring you snacks... I will also have to pick out your outfits and style your hair OK???

Fireworks!!

Nicky and Anne Marie driving Jacks sailboat

Last night I had an incredible opportunity (thanks aunt sue) I got to go out on 3 Mile Harbor on Mike's sisters boats and watch the fireworks over the water!! It was so fun to be tied up to some others boats, the people we went with (Mike's three sisters and their friends) were awesome I have met some of the nicest people here. They are genuinely interested in where I am from, and how I am enjoying New York, they also have great ideas about what I have to do before I leave. It has been such a fun weekend!! Its going to be hard to leave this place in a month!

six more weeks

I cannot even believe how this summer has flown by, only six more weeks and I will be home. Which is both kinda sad and really exciting at the same time. This experience has taught me a lot, like if you want to make new friends you have to BE FRIENDLY, also that you have to want to have fun to have fun times. Also don't take the little things for granted, like mom doing my laundry haha... Also I've learned that people back East are some of the nicest people I have ever met, aside from the citidots (those people that come from the city on the weekends and make my life a living hell!!). Some things that I love about East Hampton are:
1. that there is a beach at the end of every south facing road
2. you can catch a crab and eat it for dinner and people do it all the time
3. the trees are awesome
4. you can put bull horns on your hummer...just cause you have the $ too...
5. I live 5 minutes away from Martha Stewart, and Bon Jovi
6. on any given weekend you can see a celebrity
7. the heated pools
8. riding in taxi's you meet the funniest people
9. you meet the nicest people, some who will steal wood for you and others who will search for it on the beach and bring it back for you!!
10. the locals are the ones to meet, not the rich snobs
11. you can walk across the street whenever you want and by law the motorist have to stop... yep I often stop traffic
12. every other car is a BMW, Mercedes, or Audi, but every third car is a Toyota Prius
13. The number of landscapers out on a given day is greater than the year round population of EH
14. to go to Wendy's you have to drive 45 minutes to Riverhead
15. to go to Wal Mart you have to drive 45 mintues to Riverhead
16. you can walk to anywhere you want to go
17. if you are late to somewhere and its your fault, you can blame it on that crazy traffic and no one thinks twice haha...
those are just some of the reasons that East Hampton has become one of my favorite places!! it is like Smithfield, calm and quiet but if walk into the village its a hot spot of fun things to do and even funnier people to watch, and of course every sunny day is spent at the beach soaking up the sun. I sure hope my next six weeks are full of as much adventure as my last 8 weeks have!!

From the mouth of babes...

I am sure everyone can admit that kids say the darnedest things right? Well they also speak the truth, the cold hard brutal truth. Another thing they do is directly interpret the sarcastic things you say to adults. For example today I was talking on the phone to Linsey (haha shout out sista) and she informed me that my blog makes me sound like I am not having the time of my life out here... And after reading through it today I can see that she is right. But on the phone I was explaining that I only feel the need to write when I am sad, lonely, or mad at the world and I need to be better about telling the good things that are happening here in East Hampton. But this really didn't set in until Kelly wanted to write in my special notebook, the notebook I take everywhere I go in case I think something profound or I want to doodle, and I told her that it was my special notebook that I write in sometimes. And she said 'oh the one you write in when your mad at me, or when your sad?' and it hit me how much little kids can hear when you think they aren't paying attention... It also made me see that I need to write about my great adventures.
Well this past week has been so fun, we have played in friends pools, gone to the beach (nearly everyday for at least four hours a day...yep that equals I will be tanner than all ya'll) I also had the chance of meeting my bosses friends and their families. They have been so wonderful to me and I have got the kissing on the check thing down! Sorry if I accidentally do it to anyone when I come home. But last night we went to a Fresh Pond and watched the fireworks over the water, (this is Camille and the fireworks behind her) they were done by Devon's Yacht Club and they were shot off a boat so we had a great view, but we also had a beach fire and roasted smores for all the kids. And being the good girls camper I am I got to make all the marshmallows and put out the fire because no one knew how!!

We also went to the game farm today in Manorville which is like going to Salt Lake from Logan, its a great place for the kids it has rides, and tons of animals. They have a tiger show, giraffes, mountain lions, ducks, zebras, monkeys, turkeys, pigs, Bambi land where you go in with all the baby deer and feed them, and baby animal land where you can feed the goats bottles of milk. It is a great way to get the kids out and take up a day. On the weekends they have pony rides so the girls got to ride them today!
And although I love my girls dearly its also good to get out and I have great friends here, Tara and Chelsea are nanny's I met here through Summer(TDB2008EHPT) they are both from Blackfoot ID, and they are we have some crazy adventures, we are even having our very own beach fire tonight and roasting smores and starburst, I have also met some local people who are so nice and fun to be around. I have successfully driven a truck on the beach and rode a wave haha!! But I am sad that I have only 6 weeks left here its going to break my heart to leave my girls especially Nicky. And although they have asked me to stay for a year(don't worry mommy I said no) I just might have to come back next summer.
